We will be reading What are you reading at home?  Make sure you are reading everyday ( at least 10 minutes to get good reading mileage) and a great idea is to chat to someone at home about what you are reading and why you like it.

Fear Zone to Learning Zone

This week we looked at changing our comments we made about the resilience task from the 'Fear Zone' to the 'Learning Zone'.  What is the learning zone?

Today we were looking at our learning super powers. We talked about what they are to us and how we might use them with our learning.

A busy week

Wow! What a busy week we have had. Another Hutt Library trip that went well. Also the kids have been partaking in many assessments this week and hopefully we will have all of these completed by next week.

Today we were lucky enough to have the Goodtime Music people come and put on a free concert for us at morning tea time today. Was great seeing all the kids dancing and singing along. 

Cricket at the Basin Reserve

Yesterday Ms Mahoney and Mr Whiteman took a group of 39 Seniors to the Basin Reserve to watch the Black Caps play Australia. What a great opportunity it was for the 8 students from Team Toru.

Week 2

What a busy week we have had this week. Lots of great things have been happening in Team Toru including;

• Hutt Library trip

• Intro into Skooville

• Starting our topic

• Our first home learning activity

• Voting for our School Councillors

Here are our super hero learning powers we have been learning about.  Tell your parents about them and leave a comment saying how you might use these at home.

Learning happens everywhere!  We learn to be responsible by feeding the pets, we learn to be creative when designing a new plan

Your challenge this week is to find where your learning happens in a normal week outside of the school day.

Create a map or plan of your week showing the different times, places and ways that you learn. Show where learning happens on each day of the week

You might like to:

create a video,

design a digital image,

sketch your learning

Week 1

What a very busy week we have had in Team Toru. Not to mention the hot days we've had. This made for a good reason to have school singing and Kapa Haka outside under the shade.
